Editorial Policy

This page explains how HUDWire decides what to publish and how we keep it accurate.

Sources

  • We prefer primary sources: publisher and developer announcements, official store and platform pages, press releases and official social accounts.
  • Every news article links the sources it relies on. Third-party reports are used only as pointers and are labeled as reports, not facts.
  • Release dates, prices, file sizes, editions and system requirements are only stated as fact when an official source confirms them.

Rumors and unconfirmed information

When information is not confirmed by an official source, we say so in the article, and we do not put it in headlines as if it were certain.

Checking and updating

  • Guides and launch details are checked by the editor before publication.
  • Articles show their publication date, and the last-updated date when we change something material.
  • Evergreen guides are reviewed again when the underlying facts change, for example after an official announcement or patch.

Corrections

If you spot an error, email contact@hudwire.com or use the Contact page. We correct verified mistakes as soon as we can, and add a short correction note to the article when the change is significant.

Images

We use official key art, screenshots and press-kit images, with credit to the rights holder, or our own images. We do not publish fan art or images from other sites without permission. Rights holders can ask us to remove or replace an image through the Contact page.

Tools

We use software tools to help with research and production. Tools do not replace checking: published facts are verified against official sources before they go live.

Advertising and independence

HUDWire may show advertising and may use affiliate links. Advertising and affiliate relationships never decide what we cover or what we say about a game, and sponsored content, if we ever publish any, will be clearly labeled.
