GTA 6 preloading starts on Thursday, November 12, 2026, one week before the November 19 launch. Rockstar says digital pre-orders can begin pre-loading at local midnight on that date, so the exact moment depends on where you are. Physical copies, which contain a download code instead of a disc, also go on sale from November 12 so the code can be used for preloading.
GTA 6 preload time by country
Rockstar has not published a per-country table. What it has said is “November 12 at local midnight” for digital pre-orders, which matches how pre-orders opened on June 25 (“midnight local time”). The table below converts that to UTC for each country’s main time zone. Countries with several time zones can differ by a few hours, so treat the listed time as the earliest likely moment and check your console’s store on the night.
| Country | Preload starts (local) | UTC |
|---|---|---|
| New Zealand (Auckland) | Nov 12, 00:00 | Nov 11, 11:00 |
| Australia (Sydney, Melbourne) | Nov 12, 00:00 | Nov 11, 13:00 |
| Japan | Nov 12, 00:00 | Nov 11, 15:00 |
| Spain, Germany, France | Nov 12, 00:00 | Nov 11, 23:00 |
| United Kingdom | Nov 12, 00:00 | Nov 12, 00:00 |
| Brazil (BrasÃlia), Argentina, Chile | Nov 12, 00:00 | Nov 12, 03:00 |
| United States (Eastern) | Nov 12, 00:00 ET (Nov 11, 21:00 PT) | Nov 12, 05:00 |
| Canada (Toronto) | Nov 12, 00:00 | Nov 12, 05:00 |
| Colombia | Nov 12, 00:00 | Nov 12, 05:00 |
| Mexico (Mexico City) | Nov 12, 00:00 | Nov 12, 06:00 |
Calculated Times are our conversion of Rockstar’s “local midnight” wording. The U.S. figure matches the 05:00 UTC release timestamp on the U.S. PlayStation Store listing, which also uses Eastern time.
Who can preload GTA 6
- Digital pre-orders on PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store or the Rockstar Games Store can preload from November 12.
- Physical copies contain a download code and no disc. Rockstar says they become available from November 12 and that codes can be used as soon as they are received to preload.
- Rockstar describes preloading only for digital pre-orders and for physical download codes.
How to be ready for the preload
- Make room first. No official file size has been published yet; a reported figure of 210 GB for PS5 is explained in our GTA 6 file size guide.
- Buy in your own region. Rockstar warns that the version you buy must match the region of your platform account.
- Check your store. A preload is not the same as being able to play: the game stays locked until the launch unlock time. See GTA 6 release time by country.
