Fortnite Treasure Drop Rates: Official Odds Per Chest

Epic has published the official Fortnite Treasure Hunters drop rates. Each chest you open in a normal match has a 1 in 137,500 chance of Pirate Shop Access and a 1 in 1,562,500 chance of the Weekly Gold Outfit. Saturday Treasure Hours boost three treasures, and the rates stay the same at every other time of day.

Last checked on November 8, 2026. Official The figures come from a Fortnite Status post on X dated November 7, 2026, written after players spent a week asking Epic for the odds. TheGamer, Dexerto and Destructoid reported the same numbers. The chance-per-chest math and the chest counts below are Our math, not Epic figures.

Every treasure drop rate, per chest

Epic’s wording: “Treasure drop rates from chests are constant since season launch and don’t vary throughout the day, except during Treasure Hours. Other than Gizmos, you can’t get the same treasure twice.” The first two columns are official. The last two are our math, assuming every chest is an independent roll at the normal rate.

Treasure Chance per chest Official Chests for a 50% chance Our math Chance after 1,000 chests Our math
Gizmo (any) 1 in 127 88 99.9%+
Weekly Loading Screen 1 in 272 188 97.5%
Weekly Jam Track 1 in 391 271 92.3%
Weekly Pickaxe or Back Bling 1 in 568 393 82.8%
Weekly Vehicle & Decal 1 in 7,813 5,415 12.0%
Pirate Shop Access 1 in 137,500 95,307 0.72%
Weekly Gold Outfit 1 in 1,562,500 1,083,042 0.06%

A 50% chance is not a promise. There is no pity timer in Epic’s post, so 95,000 chests can still come up empty, and your first chest can hit.

Treasure Hours: what is boosted and by how much

Epic said the boosted rates “may be higher in future Treasure Hours” and promised to say so in advance. The “about” figures are our division of Epic’s base rate by the multiplier.

When are the next Treasure Hours?

Official On November 4, Fortnite Status said Treasure Hours were moving to Saturdays, closing each week before a new Captain arrives on Sunday. The first Saturday session was Fortune Treasure Hours on November 7, at 2–4 PM ET and 9–11 PM ET.

Reported Vice lists the same two windows for Saturdays November 14, 21 and 28 and December 5, at 1.5x for Pirate Shop Access. We have not seen a Fortnite Status post confirming those exact dates or the boost size, so check Epic’s channels on the day.

Window (if the pattern holds) ET PT UK (GMT) Central Europe (CET)
Session 1 2–4 PM Sat 11 AM–1 PM Sat 19:00–21:00 Sat 20:00–22:00 Sat
Session 2 9–11 PM Sat 6–8 PM Sat 02:00–04:00 Sun 03:00–05:00 Sun

US daylight saving time ended on November 1, so these conversions use EST, GMT and CET.

What 1 in 137,500 means for you

Our math Here is the chance of finding Pirate Shop Access at least once after a set number of chests:

Chests opened Normal rate Treasure Hour 1.5x 2x session
100 0.07% 0.11% 0.15%
1,000 0.72% 1.08% 1.44%
10,000 7.0% 10.3% 13.5%
50,000 30.5% 42.0% 51.7%
Chests for a 50% chance ~95,300 ~63,500 ~47,700

Our read Squads help most. Reported GameSpot and Polygon report that when one player finds the token, every teammate in that match gets Pirate Shop Access. If that holds, your four-player squad rolls about four times as often as a solo player for the same match time. A 1.5x Saturday window cuts the chests needed for a coin flip by about a third.

Quick checklist for token hunters

  1. Play in a full squad so every chest a teammate opens counts for you too (reported squad sharing).
  2. Save long sessions for Saturdays during Treasure Hours, when the Pirate Shop rate is at least 1.5x.
  3. Ignore “guaranteed” routes and sites. Epic says the rate is the same in every chest, so no landing spot or time of day changes it outside Treasure Hours.
  4. Turn on two-factor authentication. An account with a free 14-day shop is a target.
  5. Activate before December 15 if you find it. The full rules are in our Pirate Shop Access guide.
