Black Friday 2026 is Friday, November 27, the day after U.S. Thanksgiving (November 26), and Cyber Monday follows on November 30. For gamers it lands awkwardly: GTA 6 comes out eight days earlier, on November 19, and every console now costs more than it did a year ago. This guide lists the official prices any “deal” has to beat, what happened last Black Friday, and the GTA 6 offers that already exist. We do not use affiliate links.

The official prices any deal has to beat
All three console makers raised prices in 2026. Sony’s increase took effect on April 2, Microsoft’s on August 1 and Nintendo’s on September 1. A discount only means something against these numbers, not against last year’s.

In the UK, Sony lists the PS5 at £569.99, the Digital Edition at £519.99 and the Pro at £789.99. In the eurozone they are €649.99, €599.99 and €899.99.
What happened last Black Friday
Official In 2025 Sony’s own Black Friday promotion started on November 21 and took $100 off the PS5, PS5 Digital Edition and PS5 Pro in the U.S., according to the PlayStation Blog. That is the most useful benchmark we have. Sony has not announced its 2026 offers yet, and Microsoft had no Black Friday post on Xbox Wire when we checked on November 1. Do not assume the same discount will come back: prices went up this year, and GTA 6 launches a week before the sales.
Bundle math: what a console plus GTA 6 should cost
Our math GTA 6 is $79.99 (Standard) and $99.99 (Ultimate). We do not expect it to be discounted in its launch week, so the console is where any saving will come from. A “GTA 6 bundle” is only a deal if it costs less than these totals:

The last column is hypothetical: it shows what a 2025-style $100 console discount would mean with the Standard Edition. Before tax. The Series S has about 364 GB of usable space, which is a problem for a game reported at 210 GB; see our console prep checklist.
GTA 6 offers that already exist
- Reported Best Buy $50 certificate: My Best Buy members (the free tier counts) who pre-order GTA 6 and buy an eligible new or refurbished PS5 or Xbox Series X|S in the same order get a $50 certificate. GameSpot and Slickdeals report it arrives around November 25 and is valid for 45 days, one per member. If you are buying a console anyway, this is worth more than most early discounts.
- Reported Refurbished PS5: PlayStation Direct has sold the Certified Refurbished PS5 Digital Edition at $499, $100 under the new one, per GamesRadar+.
- Official Refurbished Xbox: Microsoft says certified refurbished Xbox consoles cost up to $100 less than new.
- Reported UK bundle: GamesRadar+ spotted a PS5 + GTA 6 bundle at EE for £623, against £639.98 bought separately. That is a saving of under £17.
Best Buy’s first early sale (Halloween “DoorBOOsters”) ended on October 25, so treat older “early Black Friday” lists with caution. Many of those prices are gone.
Checklist: how to tell a real deal from a fake one
- Compare with the 2026 price, not the old one. A PS5 Digital at $499 is $100 off today’s price. It is not “$50 off” just because it once cost $449.
- Check what is in the bundle. Some bundles include a game code, others only a voucher. Make sure it is GTA 6 itself and which edition.
- Read the model name. “Series X Digital” and “Series S 1TB” are different machines at different prices. PS5 “Slim” is the current model.
- Refurbished or open-box? Certified refurbished units from Sony and Microsoft come with a warranty. Open-box units from retailers vary.
- Watch storage. A cheap 512GB console may need an expansion card or SSD for GTA 6 plus your other games, which wipes out the saving.
- Price history. Use a price tracker to see whether the “was” price was ever real.
- Pre-order bonus timing. The Vintage Vice City Pack only comes with orders before November 20. Waiting until Black Friday for GTA 6 itself means losing it. See our editions guide.
Our take
If you only need GTA 6, buy it when you want it. It is unlikely to be cheaper on November 27, and waiting costs you the bonus pack. If you need a console, the best guaranteed value right now is the Best Buy certificate or a certified refurbished unit. A Sony or Microsoft $100 discount like last year’s would beat both, but neither company has announced one, and a deal that starts on November 21 or later would still arrive after launch day.
