GTA 6 has four official videos so far, and none of them is a review copy. We can’t score a game that isn’t out, and we won’t invent impressions. What we can do is go through the Launch Trailer, An Extended Look, Trailer 2 and Trailer 1 and separate what they actually confirm from what they leave open. GTA 6 launches on November 19, 2026 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Our full release guide is in the GTA 6 hub.

An Extended Look: the one that tells us the most
An Extended Look premiered on Netflix on August 27 at 3 p.m. ET and then on YouTube and the GTA VI site at 9 p.m. ET, according to Variety. It runs 26:48 and, per Variety, was captured entirely from in-game PS5 footage. That matters because it is long-form footage described as in-game rather than pre-rendered, which makes it the most useful of the four for judging the game.
It also came with context: Rockstar issued a statement after gameplay footage leaked online. We have not watched or scored any leaked footage and we don’t link to it.
What the videos confirm
- Setting: Vice City, USA, inside the state of Leonida. The Xbox Store description calls it “the sunniest place in America”.
- Protagonists: Jason and Lucia, who “have always known the deck is stacked against them”, according to the Xbox Store text.
- Mode: The store listing says GTA 6 is a single-player experience. Our platforms guide covers what the stores list.
- Platform: The Extended Look was captured on PS5, and Rockstar’s site says GTA VI “plays best on PlayStation 5”. That is a marketing line, not a benchmark.
What the videos do not tell us
- Performance: No frame-rate or resolution target has been published for PS5, PS5 Pro or Xbox Series X|S.
- File size: There is no official figure. A reported 210 GB PS5 download is explained in our file size guide.
- Quality: A trailer is a selection. Whether the missions, writing and open world hold up for dozens of hours is something only the finished game can answer.
- Online: The stores list in-game purchases, but we haven’t seen an official description of an online mode.
Our verdict on the trailers
As marketing, the sequence is clear: a short reveal in 2023, a follow-up in 2025, nearly half an hour of in-game footage in August, then a launch trailer with a licensed music debut. As evidence, the Extended Look is the only one that tells you something about how the game runs, and it comes from the platform Rockstar itself recommends. Treat everything else as a promise. We’ll publish a proper review with a score after we’ve played the finished game, not before.
