How it compares

Reported The obvious comparison is Black Myth: Wukong, the other big Chinese-developed action game, which sold about 10 million copies in roughly three days in August 2024. Phantom Blade Zero did not match that, but 4 million in three days is a rare result for any new IP, and this is only S-GAME’s second game after the free-to-play Phantom Blade: Executioners. Tech Times also reports that no other single-player game released in 2026 came close to its Steam peak, with Resident Evil Requiem at about 344,000.

What is Phantom Blade Zero?

Official It is a dark wuxia action RPG built in Unreal Engine 5. You play Soul, a swordsman framed for murdering his master and left with 66 days to live, who is hunted across the martial world while uncovering a conspiracy. S-GAME calls the style “Kungfupunk”: traditional martial arts mixed with mechanical prosthetics and punk fantasy. The PlayStation Store lists more than 30 primary weapons and more than 20 Phantom Edges, and the game is PS5 Pro Enhanced.

Is it worth playing during GTA 6 month?

If you like hard, fast melee combat, yes. Critics rate it among the best-reviewed games of the year (see our best-reviewed games of 2026 list), and you have until November 19 before GTA 6 takes over. It is a single-player game with a fixed story, so it fits in that window better than an open-ended live-service game. For everything else launching this month, see November 2026 game releases.
