Xbox Insiders can try an updated Xbox PC app that Microsoft says launches up to 60% faster, with Home, Store and Game Pass pages loading up to 50% faster and in-app windows opening up to 65% faster. The same Nov 5 Xbox Wire post also refreshes cloud gaming on the web and starts rolling the look to supported TVs and VR headsets. Here is the official numbers table, how to get it, and what still varies by PC.

What else changed in the PC app
- Library: simpler navigation, updated filters and new ways to organize installed games.
- Friends: friends and social features move into the main navigation so you can see what friends are playing, chat or join a party with fewer clicks.
- Search: one search surface across games (including installed titles and add-ons) and people.
- Look: refreshed game cards, Home, Settings and animations.
Official All of the above is listed in the same Xbox Wire post.
Web cloud gaming and other screens
Official Over the next few weeks, Microsoft is bringing the refreshed Xbox web / cloud gaming experience to more players automatically. You can try it sooner at play.xbox.com. New pieces include a Library tab for cloud-playable games (owned or Game Pass), better use of large desktop screens, plus dark, light and five high-contrast modes.
Official The refreshed look and navigation also begins rolling to Xbox cloud gaming apps on supported TVs and VR headsets.

Why this matters before GTA 6 week
GTA 6 launches on consoles November 19, with preload from November 10 — see our preload guide and GTA 6 hub. PC players waiting on a later GTA 6 PC build (see PC release date report) still live in the Xbox PC / Game Pass launcher every day. A cleaner, faster app is free quality-of-life before Black Friday Game Pass browsing and the rest of the November calendar in our Game Pass November list.
Frequently asked questions
Is the 60% faster Xbox PC app live for everyone?
Not yet. Xbox Wire says Xbox Insiders can try it starting November 5, 2026. A wider rollout timing was not dated in that post.
Do Home, Store and Game Pass really load 50% faster?
That is Microsoft’s claim for those pages, with the same testing caveats as the 60% launch figure.
Does this change Xbox Cloud Gaming?
Yes. A refreshed web experience is expanding over the next few weeks, with Library, desktop layout and contrast modes. Supported TV and VR cloud apps also begin getting the look.
How do I join the preview?
Download the Xbox Insider Hub for Windows PC (or console), join the program, and take the PC app preview when offered.
Will this help Game Pass on PC?
Indirectly: faster Home / Store / Game Pass pages and better Library filters make browsing and launching Pass titles quicker once you have the Insider build.
