Ways to pay less
- Certified refurbished Xbox: Microsoft Store listed a Series S at $399.99 and a Series X at $649.99 when we checked. That makes $479.98 and $729.98 with the Standard Edition. Stock changes.
- Xbox financing: Xbox Wire says Microsoft offers Buy Now Pay Later and 0% financing for up to 12 months on consoles. This doesn’t lower the price, only spreads it.
- Skip the Ultimate Edition for now: it adds $20 and is digital only. Rockstar Support says Standard owners can buy the upgrade later.
- Use the free GTA+ month: digital pre-orders include it, worth $7.99 at the normal price according to The Verge.
Costs people forget
- Storage: a reported 210 GB PS5 download is unconfirmed. A base console may need space cleared; see GTA 6 file size.
- Online subscriptions: we haven’t confirmed whether any GTA 6 mode needs PS Plus or Xbox online membership, so we’re not adding a cost.
