What Take-Two forecast for the quarter

Measure (quarter ended Sep 30, 2026) Take-Two guidance Status
Net bookings $1,620M to $1,670M Official
GAAP revenue $1,420M to $1,470M Official
GAAP net loss $(157)M to $(140)M Official
GAAP loss per share $(0.84) to $(0.75) Official
Analyst consensus (Zacks) About $1.66B revenue (down 15% year on year), $0.90 adjusted EPS Reported

The analyst figures use adjusted measures, so they don’t line up with Take-Two’s GAAP loss. The revenue consensus sits close to the top of the company’s net bookings range. Zacks also expects recurrent consumer spending (in-game purchases, mostly GTA Online, NBA 2K and mobile) to fall about 5%. In the April to June quarter, Take-Two reported net bookings of $1.39 billion, down 3%, and recurrent consumer spending made up 84% of them.

The full-year number that includes GTA 6

Fiscal 2027 (April 2026 to March 2027) Guidance
Net bookings $8.0B to $8.2B
GAAP revenue $7.9B to $8.1B
Operating cash flow More than $1B
Capital expenditure About $290M

Official In August, CEO Strauss Zelnick said: “With the excitement around the November 19th launch of Grand Theft Auto VI, we are reiterating our Fiscal 2027 Net Bookings outlook of $8.0 to $8.2 billion.”

Our math Subtract the $1.39 billion from April to June and the $1.62 to $1.67 billion forecast for July to September, and Take-Two needs about $4.94 to $5.19 billion in net bookings from October 2026 to March 2027. That’s more than in the first half of the year, and GTA 6 is the main reason. Sensor Tower estimates GTA 6 digital pre-sales at about $751 million so far (see our pre-order sales breakdown). That covers only part of the gap before launch day, physical copies or GTA Online for VI.

What to watch on November 9

  • Our analysis The launch date. Any wording around November 19 matters. Take-Two has confirmed the date repeatedly, and the preload opens the next day.
  • The $8.0 to $8.2 billion outlook. Is it held, raised or narrowed? Raising it two weeks before launch would point to strong pre-orders.
  • Guidance for October to December. This is the first quarterly forecast that includes GTA 6’s launch.
  • Pre-order comments. Take-Two rarely gives unit numbers, so expect qualitative wording rather than a figure.
  • PC and GTA Online. Any word on a PC version or the online mode. Neither has an official date.
  • AI and costs. Reported At a Wall Street Journal event this week, Zelnick said Grand Theft Auto is “handcrafted” when asked about generative AI (Insider Gaming).

How earlier Rockstar launches compare

Game Official launch sales
GTA V (2013) $800M+ on day one, $1B+ in three days
Red Dead Redemption 2 (2018) $725M+ in three days
GTA 6 (2026) Launches Nov 19; first official numbers likely at the February report

Our analysis Take-Two’s next quarterly report, for October to December, is expected in February 2027 based on its usual calendar. That’s when official GTA 6 sales figures are most likely, unless Rockstar announces a launch milestone sooner, as it did with GTA V.

Frequently asked questions

When is Take-Two’s next earnings report?

Monday, November 9, 2026, after the US stock market closes. The conference call starts at 4:30 p.m. ET (22:30 in Madrid, 21:30 in London), with a live webcast on take2-games.com/ir.

Will the earnings include GTA 6 sales?

No. The report covers the quarter that ended on September 30, 2026, before GTA 6 launched. Pre-orders are not counted as net bookings until the game is delivered, so GTA 6 revenue arrives in the December quarter.

What did Take-Two forecast for this quarter?

Net bookings of $1.62 to $1.67 billion and GAAP revenue of $1.42 to $1.47 billion, with a GAAP net loss of $140 to $157 million.

What is Take-Two’s full-year outlook?

Net bookings of $8.0 to $8.2 billion for the fiscal year ending March 2027, which Strauss Zelnick linked to the November 19 launch of GTA 6.

Could GTA 6 be delayed again on November 9?

Nothing suggests it. Take-Two and Rockstar have confirmed November 19, and the preload opens November 10. The call is the last scheduled update before launch.

Will Take-Two reveal GTA 6 pre-order numbers?

It usually doesn’t give unit pre-order figures. The 7.71 million figure being reported is a Sensor Tower estimate, not company data.
